Remember, FOOD is FUEL and ENERGY.  What type of fuel or energy are you putting into your body?  Is it healthy and nutritious, thus, allowing our bodies to perform at their best and most efficient capabilities?  Or are we filling ourselves with "fake" energy, fatty nutrients, sweets and comfort foods that stick around and get comfortable on our waists, hips, bellies and thighs? If the later, you've probably noticed that you have no energy at all or that its up and down all day long.  -----

To find out what you are REALLY eating, for AT LEAST 3 days to a week, WRITE down everything you eat and drink and if you're willing, write down the calories as well.  I promise this will be the biggest eye-opener to what you are actually eating for fuel.  Once you recognize what your real food choices are you will be more willing to start making improvements.  -----

Those who may be looking for a "bootcamp" to boost their workout experience can join me at 7 am at the Utah Baseball Academy with personal trainers, Tim Misewicz and Dori Madsen.  For this month of February they'll be focusing our workouts in the weightroom and teaching us how to properly use the equipment as well as a variety of lifts to be able to broaden our weightroom horizons.  Its only $29 for the month, but these trainers are usually $100 a session, so we're pretty lucky they're helping us out with their vast knowledge and experience in helping people reach their goals. Our little fitness group has doubled its numbers at our Saturday morning workouts and I hope we'll continue to grow and help each other get healthier and happier! I hope we will all take the time to ponder the true meaning of Christmas and carry that with us in to the New Year.

Thank you all for your love and support and hope that you will enjoy this time with your families. Our group will reconviene at the beginning of the new year as for when and where, that is yet to be decided so keep an eye out. Also with the new year there may be great news of another boot camp with NextFit personal trainers starting in January. I will definately be spreading the word when more info is announced, for now, keep your fingers crossed!

It was a great one for me to be with all of my family and my parents had some great news to share!  This year the turkey dinner was great because I didn't feel guilty enjoying all of its courses.  I played basketball the night before for an hour and a half and lifted that morning to help have a guilt free calorie splurge, it was great!  Now that this Holiday is over I'm going to keep up the exercising and eating well so when the Christmas Feast rolls around it will also be enjoyable.

She's trained Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman, Demi Moore and now Lance, Leora and me, how cool is that!  She worked our core and legs with some cardio mixed in, and the music kept us pushing, it was Awesome! 

We're looking forward to this Saturday's (Nov. 28th) workout to help burn off all that yummy turkey and pie from our wonderful Thanksgiving feasts.  To be in the church gym (2700 w. surrey rd) this week we have to go early so we're meeting at 7:00 am (unless I can change locations, so double check here again before sat. for any changes). With the real chill of winter here Saturday morning, we moved inside for our first, fun, circuit routine.  We had to work the bugs out a little bit as we got familiar with the different exercises but we got to "boogy" to disco music while we pumped some iron, stretched some bands, and shadow boxed till our hearts content!  The Jackson's two youngest boys were there working out with us (okay, one read a book but the other one jumped in the circuit with us); what a great example their parents are setting for a life of fitness!
&lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 0);"&gt;We also welcomed a newcomer to our group&lt;/span&gt;, we'll just call her Jan as she preferred her name to be left top secret ;).  It was great having her come, she added a spark to our groups' enthusiasm and is sad that she has to work &lt;span style="color: rgb(51, 255, 51);"&gt;this Saturday, November 21, during our 8:00 am cardio circuit workout at the church&lt;/span&gt; (2700 w.  Surrey road which is 5735ish S.), but is coming to workout with me during the week to make up for it.  Good Job Jan!

&lt;div&gt;It was a very nice morning for a Fall walk, although it wasn't just a stroll in the park. We did a walk with Kathy Smith on my Keychain Trainer and she really got our hearts pumping it was great! I must say congratulations to my Mom for coming out, sore knee and all. She did what she could and said she felt great afterwards. This was a big first step for her getting started with exercising again. Thats why we are here to help you and others get started and keep going through these winter months. &lt;span style="color:#33ff33;"&gt;This saturday, Nov. 14th, we will meet inside the church, 2700 w 5735 s. (surrey rd.), at 8:00 am&lt;/span&gt; since it looks like we may have snow.&lt;/div&gt;

I want to top this week off by getting together again &lt;span style="color: rgb(51, 255, 51);"&gt;Saturday morning, Nov. 7th, at 7:30 am at the church on 2700 w. and about 5800 s.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(51, 255, 51);"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;(Surrey rd, its just north of Bennion Jr. high).  Dress appropriately we plan on being outside with this warm spell.  This is a great way to visit with friends so bring them along!  It was a great workout last week but will be even better with more of you there.

Congratulations to Lance and Leora Jackson for rolling out of bed and starting their day in the fresh morning air.  We walked and jogged as the sun came up and did some exercises to help strengthen our legs and core, it was awesome!  For all those that didn't make it&lt;span style="color: rgb(51, 255, 51);"&gt; our challenge to you is to join us this Saturday at 7:30 am.  We'll meet at the church on 2700 west and about 5800 s. (surrey road) in the parking lot and head out on an energized walk down the canal road.&lt;/span&gt;  If you think our walk will be too easy for you I can easily make it more challenging for you.  &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 153, 0);"&gt;This will be a great way to start&lt;/span&gt; off Halloween day  which is typically full of treats and goodies.  Our workout may just give you enough motivation to only pick out 1 or 2 of your FAVORITE treats that night instead of tasting all of the goodies at the party or "sacrificing" for the kids and having to eat all of their "yucky" candy for them. ;)

We had a great turnout for the party and everyone is excited for our support group to finally begin! Your goal now is to schedule "My Time" into your busy schedule. Even if its only for 15, 20, 30 minutes or whatever, its time to make time for YOU and for helping you feel better about yourself and be excited about taking life on everyday! After you decide what time of the day may work best for you, call up your friend, mom, sister, neighbor or whoever it is that you want to buddy-up with and FIND A WAY to work together. Even if you can't workout together everyday, have somebody that you can be ACCOUNTABLE to and will help MOTIVATE you to keep moving. If its been awhile since you've exercised don't feel overwhelmed about what you are going to do, just start by walking, 2-3 days a week, anything is better than nothing and all we're going for is a start and working on becoming CONSISTENT.

&lt;span style="color:#33ff33;"&gt;THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH
I will be leading a group workout at Bennion Jr. High on 2700 W. 6200 S., from 7-8am.&lt;/span&gt; I know it seems early but its a great way to start our day. Make sure to dress warm enough, we'll be meeting at the track and I will mix it up for all levels of fitness. &lt;span style="color:#ff9900;"&gt;Bring anyone you would like, its FREE,&lt;/span&gt; and we want to meet everyone who's trying to make a change so we can all support each other!
I'm also &lt;span style="color:#33ff33;"&gt;looking for group leaders&lt;/span&gt; who would like to start an exercise group in your area and help lead saturday workouts close to you. &lt;span style="color:#ff9900;"&gt;Our goal for our group workouts is to get to at least 30 people total coming to these various groups so that we can meet all together and have Tim Misewicz (personal trainer for 25 yrs) come and lead us in a workout! &lt;/span&gt;I think we can reach this goal easily if we all find 2-3 new people to join us each week. My goal is to make it to 100 people coming to the saturday group workouts by Thanksgiving and to meet at least once a month as a whole group with Tim. I think this is totally achievable because we all know people who want to get moving again. So, we will try to workout outside for as long as we can and in the mean time we are looking for indoor facilities to be able to cater to our group to help stay motivated through the Holiday season!

We are excited to have everyone participate in helping each of us not only survive through this winter wellness challenge, but to THRIVE through the "hibernation" months!  I don't know about you, but I have worked too hard this summer losing weight and getting in shape to let Halloween candy, Thanksgiving pies, and Christmas party's give it all back!
     To help us get motivated for this wonderful time of year, my friends and I are throwing a &lt;b&gt;&lt;span style="color: #ff6600;"&gt;PARTY&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;!  Not your typical party where we say "oh, one little cookie won't hurt", but an amazing party where Tim Misewicz (personal trainer for 25 years), will give us some great exercise and nutrition tips to help us get ready for this holiday season.  We'll have a "taster's table" for healthy snacks and alternatives to all the sweets, as well as free give-a-ways!  We will be announcing the date and location of our first winter workout session that Tim has willingly offered his services for.  He has really been great to lend his expertise in helping kick-off this winter fitness fest so lets make his time worth-while by getting as many of us AND our friends and family to this fun-filled evening on &lt;b&gt;&lt;span style="color: #ff6600;"&gt;Thursday, October 15th at 7:00pm&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;!  Location is yet to be determined as we are anticipating a great turn out and we want to make sure we meet where everyone can be accomadated.
