What are you eating?

To start off any new attempt at regaining our health and wellness we must take a realistic look at what we are putting into our bodies. Remember, FOOD is FUEL and ENERGY. What type of fuel or energy are you putting into your body? Is it healthy and nutritious, thus, allowing our bodies to perform at their best and most efficient capabilities? Or are we filling ourselves with "fake" energy, fatty nutrients, sweets and comfort foods that stick around and get comfortable on our waists, hips, bellies and thighs? If the later, you've probably noticed that you have no energy at all or that its up and down all day long. ----- To find out what you are REALLY eating, for AT LEAST 3 days to a week, WRITE down everything you eat and drink and if you're willing, write down the calories as well. I promise this will be the biggest eye-opener to what you are actually eating for fuel. Once you recognize what your real food choices are you will be more willing to start making improvements. ----- For some basics on what and how much you SHOULD be eating, go to www.mypyramid.gov This is the USDA's site for basic nutrition info. Good luck with your food log, if anything it might keep you from eating that donut just because you wont want to write it down! :)
